Pick Pixelate, Blur or Box as the style, then Rectangle, Ellipse or Freehand as the shape — an ellipse hugs a face more naturally, and freehand traces irregular areas like a paragraph of text. The Strength slider (6–60) sets how coarse the pixelation, how heavy the blur, and Box mode adds a color picker so the cover can be black, white, red or any custom color.
Pixelate and Box permanently replace the pixels, so the hidden content can't be recovered from the exported file — the safest choice for truly sensitive information. Blur is best for a softer, cosmetic hide; heavily blurred text can sometimes be partially reconstructed, so don't rely on light blur for secrets.
All redaction happens locally on your device; your image is never sent to a server, which matters most exactly when you're hiding sensitive details. Exporting draws a fresh PNG, JPG or WebP from the canvas, which also drops the original file's EXIF metadata (camera, timestamps, GPS) as a side effect.
