Frequently asked questions

Common questions about rotating and straightening images in PixKit.

Is my image uploaded to a server?+
No. Everything runs 100% locally in your browser. Your image never leaves your device — there is no upload, no cloud, and no account required.
How do I straighten a crooked photo?+
Open the Straighten tool and drag the Angle slider until the horizon looks level (you can fine-tune to 0.1°), then click Apply.
Can I rotate by exactly 90 degrees?+
Yes. Use the -90° and +90° quick buttons. You can even combine a quarter-turn with the slider to reach any angle you need.
What happens to the corners after rotating at an angle?+
PixKit enlarges the canvas to fit the full rotated image and fills the newly exposed corners with transparency. Export as PNG or WebP to keep the transparent areas, or crop afterward.
Can I undo a rotation?+
Yes. Every rotation is undoable, so you can experiment freely and step back with Undo if you change your mind.

Rotate and straighten photos without uploading anything

Crooked horizons and tilted shots are easy to fix. Drag the angle slider to nudge your image between -45° and +45° for fine straightening, or tap the quick buttons for clean 90° turns. Every adjustment happens on your own machine — your photo is never uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone but you.

Straighten a crooked horizon

Use the angle slider for precise tilts down to a tenth of a degree. When you apply, PixKit recomputes the bounding box so the whole rotated image fits, and fills the exposed corners with transparency — perfect for PNGs or for cropping afterward.

Quick 90° rotation

Need to turn a sideways phone photo upright? The -90° and +90° buttons rotate in clean quarter-turns, and you can combine them with the slider for any final angle. Hit Reset or 0° to start over at any time.

Private by design

PixKit runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API — no servers, no accounts, no tracking. Because there is no upload, rotation is instant even for large images, and your files stay completely private.
