A flip is the simplest transform in imaging — every pixel moves to its mirrored position, and nothing else changes. There's no interpolation, no resampling, no quality decision to make. Which makes it slightly absurd that most "mirror image online" sites route your photo through a server queue to do it. PixKit performs the remap directly in your browser's canvas: click, done, and the picture never leaves your machine.
Flip H mirrors left-to-right — it's what fixes mirrored selfies, prepares iron-on transfers, and turns a subject to face the other way. Flip V mirrors top-to-bottom, which is rarer but exactly right for certain scanner and negative-digitization mishaps, and for creative reflections. If an image is both mirrored and sideways — common with carelessly digitized film — combine a flip with the 90° left/right buttons in the same panel until it reads correctly. Every step is undoable.
Because flips and quarter-turns move pixels without resampling them, the operation itself costs zero quality — the flipped image contains exactly the same pixel values as the original, rearranged. The only quality decision left is your export format: choose PNG and the whole pipeline is lossless end to end; choose JPG or WebP and compression is applied once, at export, like any save. Contrast that with services that silently re-encode to JPG on their server before you've even downloaded.
