PixKit compresses images to a precise file size, free and fully in your browser. Enter a target in kilobytes and it binary-searches the optimal quality so your image is as sharp as possible while staying under the limit — ideal for email attachments, faster websites, and upload caps.
Image encoders take a quality setting, not a file size — so "compress to 200 KB" normally means guessing. PixKit removes the guesswork: it encodes your image at a mid quality, checks the byte size, then repeatedly halves the search range up or down until it lands on the highest quality that still fits under your target. Because encoding is local and fast, the whole search takes a moment even on large photos.
Choose WebP or JPG for the smallest sizes with a quality slider, or keep PNG for lossless graphics. PNG can't target a KB size — it has no quality dial — so for hard size limits pick JPG or WebP, and use Resize first if the dimensions are larger than you need. The live size estimate updates as you change settings.
