Frequently asked questions

Common questions about converting images to PDF.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?+
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser. Your image is never uploaded to any server and the PDF is generated locally on your device.
What page sizes can I choose?+
Three options: Fit-to-image (the PDF page is the exact size of your image), A4, and Letter. On A4 and Letter the image is centered and scaled to fit without cropping.
How does Auto orientation work?+
Auto picks portrait or landscape to match your image's shape. You can override it by selecting Portrait or Landscape manually.
What image formats are supported?+
Any image you can open in PixKit — including JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF — can be converted. The image is embedded into the PDF as a high-quality PNG.
Why does it say it needs the served app?+
PDF export loads the pdf-lib library, which requires the app to be served over http rather than opened directly from a file. Just run start.command to launch the local server, then try again.

Image to PDF, done privately on your device

Sometimes you just need an image inside a PDF — to attach it to a form, email a receipt, or hand off a design proof. This tool wraps your current image in a single-page PDF and downloads it instantly, without sending a single byte to a server.

Page sizes that match how you share

Choose Fit-to-image to get a borderless PDF the exact dimensions of your picture, or pick A4 or Letter when the file has to drop into a standard document. On A4 and Letter the image is centered and scaled to fit, so nothing is cropped.

Smart orientation

Leave orientation on Auto and PixKit matches the page to your image — landscape for wide shots, portrait for tall ones. Or force Portrait or Landscape when a specific layout is required.

Truly local, truly private

Everything runs in your browser using pdf-lib. There is no upload, no account, and no watermark. Your image and the PDF it becomes never leave your computer.
