Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about cropping images into circles and rounded shapes.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?+
No. PixKit is 100% local. The circle crop happens entirely in your browser using a canvas, so your photos are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone.
Which format keeps the transparent corners?+
Save as PNG or WebP to preserve transparency outside the circle or rounded shape. JPEG has no transparency, so it would fill the corners with a solid color.
How does the circle crop work?+
For a circle, the tool first crops to a centered square based on the shorter side, then clips that square to a circle. This guarantees a perfectly round result even from rectangular photos.
What does the corner-radius slider do?+
In Rounded mode, the slider sets the corner radius as a percentage (0 to 50%) of the image's shorter side. At 50% on a square image you effectively get a circle.
Is it really free with no sign-up?+
Yes. PixKit is free and requires no account. Open the page, drop in an image, crop, and download.

Round and circle-crop images with zero uploads

PixKit Circle Crop lets you cut any image into a perfect circle or a soft rounded square without installing software or sending a single byte to a server. Everything runs locally inside your browser, so your photos never leave your device.

Circle crops for avatars and profile pictures

Choose the Circle shape and PixKit first crops your image to a centered square, then clips it to a clean circle. The area outside the circle becomes transparent, so the result drops straight into a profile, badge or app icon without an awkward background box.

Rounded corners with adjustable radius

Pick the Rounded shape to round just the corners. The corner-radius slider goes from 0 to 50% of the shorter side, so you can dial in anything from a subtle softening to a pill shape. An optional padding slider adds breathing room inside the frame.
